I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms offer a beautiful view of the Arabian Sea but require major renovation, especially with non-functioning switches and plug points. Despite this, the club area with its own restaurant and infinity pool adds a luxurious touch. The beach view rooms are a definite plus.
The hotel room was full of mosquitos until 6 pm when we left, but this issue was promptly addressed at no extra charge, which was very much appreciated. The room was substantially full of flying insects during check-in, and loose wiring caused the TV to be non-operational. On the bright side, the room was well-equipped and proved very useful, especially when heartily enjoying the Kerala cuisine.
The 5-star location of the hotel was acceptable, but the rooms could do with a freshen up, particularly in the bathroom. The service at the terrace pool was superb, thanks to the attentive staff. The hotel's location, built on a hill overlooking the stunning Arabian Sea, offers a nurturing experience surrounded by nature. The dining at The Tide was lovely, especially during breakfast.
Staying at the hotel was a pleasant surprise with a spacious Presidential suite offering an amazing ocean view. However, the actual room condition was not as modern as portrayed on the website. The service, especially guest relations representatives Rekha and Aswarthy, made our stay memorable despite some issues with addressing bird problems. The location was simply amazing, offering captivating views of the Arabian Sea. The dining experience was extensive and enjoyable with a variety of Kerala specialties, although there was a slight misunderstanding during a break in dinner. Overall, the facilities were well-maintained and enhanced our experience.
The Leela Raviz at Kovalam offers outstanding rooms with valet services, a club with a fine selection of spirits and snacks, and a private infinity pool overlooking the sea. However, my overall experience fell far below what I would expect from Leela.
I had the most memorable trip with my loved ones at this hotel, with special thanks to Prajin, Arun, and the Leela staff for their unforgettable hospitality. Arun's coconut cookies were a delightful touch that made our stay even more special. The only downsides were the small room size, non-functioning mini-fridge, and a slight feeling that the place is on the cusp of five stars.
